This is a ticket for the planetarium at the science museum.
⚠️ Please be aware that all commentary during the show is provided in Japanese only.
⚠️ Children aged 4 and under do not require an admission ticket. For safety reasons, we kindly ask that they be seated on their guardian's lap during the viewing (one guardian required per child aged 4 and under). If you are unable to have your child seated on your lap, we will guide you outside the dome.
⚠️ Please be aware that the planetarium dome will be completely dark during the projection. For those who may find it challenging to remain seated, we kindly ask for your cooperation. If it becomes necessary, our staff will guide you outside the dome to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
⚠️ Please note, the “Planetarium Only★彡” ticket is designed for visitors who already have a Science Museum ticket, such as an Annual Passport or a “Museum” or “Special Exhibition” ticket. This ticket does not provide museum access. If you don’t have a separate admission ticket, we recommend you to purchase a “Museum and Planetarium“ ticket.
⚠️ We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a peaceful experience for all.
There are two types of programs at the planetarium: General Projection and Family Hour.
General Projection
Each day, astronomers will give live, improvised presentations on various topics related to astronomy and space, including the current night sky and trending astronomical phenomena, with themes changing every month. Visitors of various ages are welcome, and offer a calm atmosphere for the shows.
• The theme from March 8 to April 9 is: '
High-energy Astronomy'
X-rays and gamma rays are high-energy electromagnetic waves generated by highly active hot celestial bodies and explosions. There are also high-speed particles that soar into Earth from space. This show features the cutting edge of high-energy astronomy.
⚠️ Please be aware that this program is designed to be experienced in a quiet environment. Due to the acoustics of the planetarium dome, even whispers can be disruptive. If any sound is inadvertently made during the projection, we will need to guide the individual responsible outside the dome.
Family Hour
This program is filled with playful elements and is suitable for families with preschoolers and children in the early years of elementary school to enjoy with peace of mind. We explore tonight's sky as well as embark on space travel and adventures. First-time visitors to the planetarium are also welcome.
⚠️ This program is popular among children, so please note that you may hear laughter or talking during the projection.
●Entry after the start time of each planetarium projection is not permitted
The planetarium dome is located on the 6th floor of our science museum. Please consider the time required for moving via elevator or escalator, as well as restroom breaks, and arrive early. We kindly ask that you arrive at the planetarium dome on the 6th floor approximately 15 minutes before the start time of each projection.
●To those visiting the special exhibition 'BIRD' and the planetarium
If you wish to visit both the special exhibition 'BIRD' and the planetarium on the same day and possess a disability certificate, you and up to two accompanying caregivers can enter the special exhibition at half the price of a same-day ticket.
